Services

Our Services

Active Mentoring currently works in partnership with schools, local authorities, and education providers across Dorset and surrounding areas, delivering high-quality alternative provision for pupils requiring additional support.

Our mentoring is centred around building trust, consistency, and positive routines, helping young people develop both emotionally and socially while improving engagement with learning.

We tailor every programme to the individual pupil, ensuring sessions meet their specific needs and outcomes.

Our Provision includes :

  • One-to-one mentoring through sport and physical activity.
  • Emotional regulation and confidence development.
  • Support for SEMH and EHCP pupils.
  • Engagement support for school refusal and anxiety.
  • Structured gym, boxing, rock climbing and fitness-based sessions.
  • Community-based mentoring.
  • Goal setting and personal development planning.
  • Reintegration support into education, where appropriate.

Our Approach

At Active Mentoring, physical activity is used as a tool for connection and regulation, not simply as recreation.

Sessions typically include:

  • Mentor check-in and well-being discussion.
  • Structured physical activity tailored to the pupil.
  • Confidence and communication development.
  • Reflection and goal setting.
  • Session feedback recorded for schools/parents.

This structured approach allows pupils to experience success, develop resilience, and build positive relationships with trusted adults.

Professional Standards

We operate to high professional and safeguarding standards, including:

  • Enhanced DBS-checked mentors.
  • Risk assessed sessions and venues.
  • Regular communication with schools.
  • Progress feedback and reporting.
  • Fully insured Provision.
